Mugwort is a magical plant associated with the divine feminine energy. Her Latin name Artemis comes from the Greek moon goddess. I have been drawn to mugwort since I discovered this powerful healing ally. It's practical uses are many and it has been used for healing for thousands of years. Just as the moon pulls and releases so too does mugwort, pulling and releasing stagnant energy from the body. She has a direct toning and stimulating action on the womb. Used for millennia as an emmenagogue to bring on delayed or absent and scanty periods. Moving stagnant energy and stimulating blood flow to the uterus. Improving fertility and assisting in regulating periods and period pain.

I have chosen essential oils which are hormone balancing, deeply comforting, and grounding. Cinnamon and patchouli relate to the root chakra and the colour redish brown,  they are very warming and help to ease the discomfort of period pain. Clary sage and geranium are cheerful essential oils, powerful for balancing hormones and gently relieving pmt.
